Training my 1 yr old husky

This is the first time I have ever posted on a blog. I have a great puppy named Luna. She is an alaskan husky and is awesome! Luna has a ton of energy and loves the snow. We live in Denver, CO and enjoy skiing/snowboarding - so training our puppy to pull us on a sled seems like a fun family activity too. I would love any help/suggestions as I have never done this before. We have another dog - Bella - who is 9 years old. She is a sheltie/shepherd mix from the DDFL. I am so glad this site is staying! ThanksThen secondly: I'd like to know how other dog owners that live in town, in close proximity to other folks deal with odors. We keep our yard (it used to have…Continue

Welcome To the Husky Place

Hello Husky Fans...

It's only the name that changed.... You'll notice the name of this place is now myhusky.ning.com Nothing else has changed it was just a matter of techy website stuff. We're still the husky community and we are still part of www.alaskan-husky-behavior.com If you try the link and it doesn't work, be patient, everything needs a little time to adjust :-)

Earlier this year I handled dogs for the Yukon Quest. You can read all about it at this website www.whitemountainskennel.com You have to start from the bottom of the page and work your way to the top or it will be in reverse order. You won't see my picture under "handlers" because I was taking care of the 60 sled dogs and the cabin at home (yep, that's right, 60 dogs, cabin, wood stove, outhouse...)

Be sure to check out my husky website for training and behavior info specific to huskies.

If you have training or behavior questions go here.

And don't forget to join us on FACEBOOK

If you need a dog trainer you can find me at my business.

Happy Trails!

Kirsten
